There were these dragonflies that flew about under trees and beneath a sun that brightly lit the forest's splendor. These light rays reflected off their wings and the rays started turning to strings. The dragonflies were caught in these strings and when they attempted to struggle free their wings broke off to sway in the breeze and they fell to the ground, turning the dragonflies to caterpillars.
On a dreary day where the rays weren't catching Jefflley was flying by with a mouth full of saliva and spit it on Stilhy. The strings dissolved.
So then many dragonflies of the community came by and spit on all of the strings, but only rarely would it work.
As time turned out Jeffley and Stilh were wound into love and seemed to be soulmates, as did all the others whose strings dissolved from spit. Thus all of the single dragonfliese came by and spit upon the hanging dragonflies, searching for their mate.
Many of the dragonflies never were released from their strings but merely from their strings...maybe their mate was a caterpillar to find upon falling
So that's why dragonflies spit. To find their mates.
